Lonely Planet puts out a great book called Istanbul to Cairo on a shoestring. We are basically going to follow the route this book describes, just in reverse.  If you are traveling this way. avoid the "Israel Stamp Stigma". 

We are really excited about this portion of the trip -- the pyraminds, the ruins of Petra, I mean come on!  We can't wait!
